Normally we find our role models to be much older than us. They can be famous, a celebrity or simply someone to which we admire for the amazing work that they have done over a long period of time. Today I am writing about three very young ladies that have shown love and compassion well beyond their years.

In a short space of time I have received three different images, in different months, of my three baby cousins standing in a hairdressers holding their extremely long hair in their hands after having it all chopped off. When I received the first image of Mia (aged 12) I was shocked. I thought 'what a drastic age for an 12 year old'. However my thoughts suddenly changed to admiration, respect and love when I heard the reason as to why she has decided to cut her hair. Mia, Alyssa (age 10) and Jenna (age 9) all decided by themselves, might I add, that they wanted to grow their hair so that when it was long enough they could get it cut and donate their hair to the Rapunzel Foundation.

The Rapunzel Foundation is a charitable organization that works to improve the lives of those living with hair loss (alopecia) through fund raising as well as through hair raising. Hair is raised through the Rapunzel Foundation’s Ponytail campaign, where people commit to growing their hair 14 inches or longer with the view to their hair being sent to help make much needed wigs to improve the lives of those living with the hair loss.

I have no idea how and when each of my cousins heard about this charity but the fact that they openly decided to grown their hair for such an incredible cause brought tears to my eyes. I am so proud of these three Angels. As I have mentioned, they have all shown wisdom and compassion well beyond their years and for that I am forever grateful to them. As we all know, it is so easy to get 'caught up' in the hustle and bustle of our own lives. We are always rushing around from A to B trying to do a million things at once that we can forget to stop and reflect on what really matters in our life... love. We are all put here on this planet to ensure that we all help each other lead the most peaceful, adventurous and joyous life possible.

These little earth Angels have not only inspired me, they have touched the lives of others in the hope to uplift their spirit, enhance their confidence and to put a smile on their faces, what an incredible gift. The funny thing is, the ladies don't even realise the significance of their gesture and how much their hair will change the lives of many. I have recently heard that Jaden (age 6), sister to Jenna, is now following in her big sisters foot steps and she has decided to start growing her own hair in order to donate when it is long enough, simply adorable! I have always said that if you can at least put one smile on one person's face a day then you are an Angel and you are doing your job well and these ladies are definitely doing that.

Let's all take a leaf out of these beautiful earth Angel's book. Ask yourself this, 'what can I do today to enhance the lives of others?' Even if you focus on one person in need. By bringing joy to one person's life a day will lift their energy, the energy around you and the over all universal frequency. Make a change today!
